This pre-boarding website was developed, along with four of my colleagues from KEA, as part of our internship at Siemens. We were hired by Siemens Denmark’s HR department to help them develop a pre-boarding website to introduce new employees to Siemens and explain what the company does. The idea was that this would save time and reduce the amount of information packed into the introductory day.
The website was built using the Foundation Framework. This was recommended to us by our coach/mentor from KEA as a faster way to develop the website and to easily make it responsive. We used GitHub to manage the development process which was my first experience in working with this technology. We had a few hiccups in the beginning, but by the end of the project we were all very familiar with it and wondered why we hadn’t been introduced to it earlier.
The website, along with the content and intro video were developed across a 10-week period. Everyone was very pleased with the final result. Alongside helping with the coding I also assisted with the video and even did a bit of the graphic design.
